The difference

He built the houses before he engineered them.

Founder Jeff Gray II grew up in the construction industry, in his family's structural design and specialty lumber business. Cutting I-joists and beams, walking jobsites, studying framing plans, and framing houses himself: he learned firsthand how his designs actually go together.

That foundation, paired with his civil engineering degree and over six years practicing at residential structural firms across New England, led him to found JGray Engineering, combining real construction experience with structural expertise. A structural design isn't finished when it's code-compliant. It's finished when it honors the architecture and makes the build easier in the field.
